Rocking the fishtail braid ♥

So recently its been a bit of a goal of mine to learn how to do a fishtail braid!
I see so many pictures when looking at blogs and tumblr of girls with
fishtail braids, I even see it in some high fashion shots, which of course makes
it all the more appealing.

The following is a recent free people ad.
Eventually i'll learn how to add these cool colors into it!

Then this morning when one of my favorite blogs posted a "how-to" on
doing a fishtail braid I jumped on the opportunity to learn!

Even the celebs are rocking the fishtail braid!

Here is what mine turned out like!
And remember this was my first time.

Have a beautiful day

The Dominican Republic

So for a little vacation time with my sister and step-mom we decided to go to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Everything started out great and I was excited to spend some alone time with my sister.
This was on the plane to philly.
Then on the plane to Punta Cana we got first class ;-)

This is the Island upon arrival with an airplane view. We stayed at a hotel called Bahia Principe, and although we had an amazing time together I would never recommend the hotel to anyone, the food really wasn't any good! Apart from the deserts which were good.

The drinking was unlimited but I couldn't find any Strong bow at the resort so I really didn't drink too much. My sister is 13 and they let her drink at the resort. Bad influence I know but it's Vacation! So the first night we felt classy so with out dinner and desert we had white wine, or "blanco vino" as I called it in order to communicate with the Spanish employees.

There were some cute shows at the resort like the Lion King and one where they pretended to be stars from today. Even though I really should have enjoyed time at the beach sand always makes me uncomfortable so a lot of my time was spent by the pool where I read Water for Elephants

All in all it was a relaxing vacation which is what it was meant to be!
And I even got to work on my spanish skills while I was there.
Unfortunately that is the only spanish studying I've done all summer.
There also wasnt too much Fashion going on during the trip but my night time dinner outfits were all from Charlotte Russe.

They loved that we asked them to take a picture!
(They only spoke Spanish)

Disney World - the happiest place on earth

On may 9th just two days after I got home from my cruise I headed out to Disney World with my boyfriend! We had a 3 day park hopper left from a previous trip which we used this time to go to all 4 Disney world parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios! On the drive up to Orlando my boyfriend and I may or may not have massacred mass amounts of love bugs, but its not really our fault! If they were flying on the turnpike they must have had some kind of death wish.

We stayed at a Disney world hotel so that we could take buses around to the parks instead of driving the car everyday. Plus staying at a disney hotel and going to the parks just makes the experience all the more magical when its 100% disney. The first day that we arrived we went to Epcot where we traveled around the world and had some lunch in Morocco. My boyfriend and I weren't exactly fans of the meat with sugar on top but we ate it anyway as part of the experience. Then since we were staying at a Disney hotel we got to go to the Magic Kingdom for extra late disney hours until 2AM! Thats always the best time to go to Magic Kingdom since its always packed. It makes getting on Splash and Thunder Mountain a bit easier. They also had disney characters out late so we saw them too on our first night, because lines during the day are far to ridiculous.

The second day of our disney dream we went to Animal Kingdom! Which is a really fun time, and it was my boyfriends first time at Animal Kingdom. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the beautiful tree of life!

But I rushed him off to the back of the park where we could get fast passes for the Disney Safari, where they have all sorts of Animals that you could find in the wild of Africa.

Then we went on Dinosaur, a ride which I think is way to scary for kids! The first time around I had my eyes closed, but the second time I kept them open. And we also went on the newest roller coaster at the disney parks Everest! Which is a pretty good ride, for those who like a thrilling roller coaster now and again. Then we wandered to find the Gorilla exhibit, and the Gorillas walking around were very entertaining to watch, I think we stood there watching them for a good hour!
On our third and final day we decided to go back to Epcot since we loved it so much! We played it safe and had dinner in Italy this time, pizza to be precise. Then we headed on over to Mexico where we got a very expensive frozen Margarita, but hey "when in disney" right? Then we walked over to the UK where in London at a pub of course I found my newest obsession Strongbow. My boyfriend also got a Woodpecker which was quite nice and not as dry as Strongbow but still I love my Strongbow (draft is better than bottled.)
All in all the Disney trip was wonderful, just as Disney world always is.

*Water for Elephants*

This is the books original cover, I take no credit for this photo.

So on top of wanting to do a ton of traveling this summer another thing on my to-do list is to read a ton of books! After I read History of a Suicide: my sister's unfinished life. By Jill Bialosky, I read the newly released blockbuster Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen! Unfortunately I did see the movie before I read the book but I also did that with Twilight and it did not change my reading experience what-so-ever. I finished the book in 3 days time because I was on vacation relaxing and reading. I really enjoyed Water for Elephants as it made me fall in love with the 1930's circus life. Sara Gruen is a truly talented author and picked a subject which has not been fully explored in many novels as I've come to find out while searching for another circus novel to read. Not only is this an easy novel to follow along with but it is an extremely vivid read at the same time. The photos of real life circuses within the books pages also add a unique edge to the novel.  You switch back and fourth between Old "ninety or ninety-three" year old Jacob Jankowski's current living situation in an assisted living home and his memories from the 1930's when he walked away from school, joined a circus, and found the love of his life. In comparing the Movie and the book i'd say they did a marvelous job. Though they did leave out a few characters that is to be expected with movies because of the time frames they need to complete the story line within. The book and movie are definite must reads and must see's but i'd recommend reading it first unless you want to picture Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon in your mind, instead of letting your imagination create its own characters.

Cruising with my Girls!

I've always wanted a blog, so this seems like the perfect time to start.

My classes at Florida Atlantic University ended May 4th. And I've decided after a list of unfortunate life events that I need the summer off to do what I want to do and nothing else. My summer started fast with a 3 day cruise on Cinco de Mayo with my two best girlfriends, Andrea and Caitlin.

We had a lot of fun, even though are rooms were like the poor peoples from the titanic, size doesn't really matter it was more about the experience. Plus the beds were really comfy, and the ship had orgasmic pizza. The first night we found the hot spot for karaoke which happens to be one of my favorite things to do, needless to say I was very happy drinking Bahama mamas and singing "I love rock and roll." We even met some new friends at karaoke, four guys, and it was very refeshing to meet guys that were just interested in talking and making new friends, not getting in our pants. Then around 12:30 we made our way to the dance club on the ship with our new friends. Where we danced the rest of the night away...

The next morning we woke up and headed out for the Bahamas! We took a bus to a hotel where we got some sun by the pool, and then did some shopping! When trying to catch the bus back to the ship the main bus filled up and we then had to take a private charter. On the charter we got to ride shot gun with the driver and request some lady gaga tunes.

Once getting back to the ship and resting for a bit the ladies and I got all dolled up for dinner where I had steak for the second night in a row. Then we caught the magic show, but before the show Andrea and I spoke with the magician and volunteered each others services if he were to happen to need an audience members participation. Of course he chose me and I magically made a table float. Then the three of us made our way back up to karaoke where Andrea and I sang "I don't wanna miss a thing" one of our greatest hits as performers. Then again just like the night before we went to the dance club, but not before we stopped at the pub to grab some Strongbows, which happens to be my beverage of choice.. at least this month!

Once in the club we again danced the night away and ended up staying out until about 4:30 am. Caitlin and I walked around outside once the club closed down at 3 am and got some pretty sights of the ocean at night. All in all the cruise was a lot of fun, as expected because anything I do with my best friends is a lot of fun.
